An agreement has been signed between the IES Teulada and the Town Hall to support a proposal which asks for new faculties which accommodate new needs, caused by social and economic facts, much better. Gardening and tourism have been mentioned.
In addition to that, Raül Llobell, acting mayor, and the councillor Daniel Ibanco, together with the municipality of Poble Nou de Benitachell demonstrate their discontentment with the current solution of university entrance exams. Students have to travel to the Universities in order to take the exam, which is not only time consuming, but quite often families cannot afford the extra cost and it adds even more physical and psychological stress. Also unexpected incidents could prevent or interrupt this important trip.
Ibanco stated that the council understands that the modality of the exams should not interrupt the academic schedule, but to have the students travel is not the best solution. They therefore suggest to prolongate the school year 2016/17, make necessary adaptions and guarantee legal conformity.
