The Auditorio Teulada Moraira presented two of its signature events to the press: The international festival of young orchestras (FIJO) and Dolia Essència, the 7th wine and gastronomy fair.
The 5th International Festival of Young Orchestras takes place between July 30 and August 6 in collaboration with the county council of Alicante. The following venues will welcome the four participating orchestras: Auditorio of the Alicante Province, ADDA, International Auditorio of Torrevieja and the Auditorio of Teulada Moraira. The director Francisco Maestre prepared the programmes including the best music we heard over the last five years. An event to enjoy great music and simultaneously support young musicians. It also is an event to share, exchange and collaborate between different cultures and thus turning the encounter into a fabulous offer for tourists and visitors. All concerts start at 8pm and are free of charge. Limited seats available.
Programme: July 31, Orquesta Joven de la Provincia de Alicante, conducted by Francisco Maestre. August 1, Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de la Suiza italiana. An orchestra from the southern part of Switzerland staring the Japanese soloist Taisuke Yamashita. August 2, Orquesta de Jóvenes “Vasiliev Ostrov”, from Russia’s second largest city St. Petersburg, winner of several international music contests. August 3, Orquesta de Jóvenes de Amersfoorts, from the Netherlands, celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. The final presentation takes place on Saturday August 5, with the Gala del FIJO 2017. The four orchestras will band together for a spectacular night.
The wine and gastronomy fair Dolia, another Auditorio Teulada Moraira signature event, takes place on September 2, starting at 7:30pm and there will be no charge. Maite Serrat, director of the Auditorio Teulada Moraira, explained the graphic art work for the event, representing the agricultural product, the Moscatel de Alejandría, with its golden colour and the blue colour of the Mediterranean which stands for all the species living on the bottom of the sea.
The event welcomes two famous chefs of the area, adding four Michelin stars to the fair, Alberto Ferruz, Restaurant BonAmb in Xàbia, and Kiko Moya, restaurant L´Escaleta in Cocentaina.
There will be three different themes. In the Symphony Hall the two chefs will present a duet, combining the costal gastronomy with the one inland, demonstrating how to preserve our territory and our landscape through the culture of gastronomy, our products and our producers. The same venue will be used to open-up a new chapter, something for our palate, something with a lot of flavour and new nutrients, representing the world of cocktails. Ivan Talens, a bartender of the Comunidad Valenciana, will show his talent in uniting liquid gastronomy with solid gastronomy.
The second theme will take place in the exhibition hall where the company Empaperart offers an artistic touch to our products, focusing on this year´s protagonist, citrus fruits. The same venue hosts “A qué sabe nuestra gastronomía", promoting our gastronomy through quality products and showing where they originate from.
The third theme is located outside in the garden area and addresses the kids with DOLIA KIDS. The foundation l’Oceanogràfic of Valencia will teach the kids how important it is to preserve the sea floor and its species. There will be a workshop and show cooking with María Querol, participant of Master Chef Junior, with Manuel Toharia at her side. The subject: Jellyfish!
